Bonita Springs - Spring Line Dance Workshop
March 26th, 2005
with
jg2 - James Gregory

Arrived at the Bonita Shores recreation center Saturday around 9:15 am and there were already dancers there (dedicated group aren't we). Pam Peterson and Brenda Curran (the directors) had everything ready and music flowing. Dancers started arriving and Pam had the registration running smoothly. Coffee and pastry's were set up for breakfast. James started around 10:00am with Taking Time, Lynne Flanders. This was a very easy beginner dance. He then went on to teach Outta Touch by Pepper. This was also an easy beginner dance. We then took in some open dancing.
Requested songs: Footloose, Move Me, Bashia, Two Time Trick What it is.

The next teach was Mars Attack, Rachael McEnaney, this one I've done before but some hadn't seen it yet. It is a 4 wall intermediate with 1 tag. This filled the floor each time it was played. James went on to teach Cha Cha Groove, MIL, you can make this one easy for your beginner plus or more intermediate by adding the 1 1/4 triple. One more teach before the lunch break was Drinkin Bone Boogie by Ellen Kiernan, another very easy dance.

We all scattered for the lunch break, lots of restaurants to choose from, we went to Toucan's a Key West type restaurant. Excellent food. With protein under our belt, we headed back for more dancing.
Requested songs: Clean up to the elbow, Wave on Wave, Under your spell, Dipstick.

James next teach was Badonkadonk by Pepper, 2 wall novice line dance. This is a cute dance and I also like the music which is Trace Adkins, Honky Tonk Badonkadonk. Next was Mexico Bound, Bob Bonett, another easy beginner dance, to Good to go Mexico by Toby Keith. He also taught Hello Trouble by Alice Daugherty and Time Hand, this one had to be my personal favorite. Really fit the music, which was Hello Trouble by the Desert Rose Band. The last dance was Love 2-step, Nancy Morgan, a fast two-step song.
Requested songs: Trust Me, Funkalicious, Caught in the Act, Bad Company, Envious, Cha Cha tonight.

With the workshop ended the dancers took and dinner break and then we came back to the hall for more open dancing. The night ended around 10:00pm with everyone exhausted and happy.

Thanks to James and Jean and Pam and Brenda for providing us with a full day of dancing and socializing.

Don't miss the Line Dance Marathon, June 2-5, 2005 at the Sheraton Imperial, Raleigh NC. Theme this year: Sleepy Time Nursery Rhymes.
